HOW GOOD WAS:
FREEDOM MUSIC FESTIVAL 2024!

We’re still pumping from an incredible weekend at the Freedom Music Festival! Over three unforgettable days, more than 1,200 joined us for great music, powerful gospel messages, and beautiful moments of community. From the Friday night youth fun to the joyful Family Fun Day on Saturday and a Sunday filled with worship, this year’s festival was so good.

We’re recapping some of the best parts of this year’s Freedom Music Festival.

Let’s dive into the highlights!

Friday

This was our first Youth-focussed Night, and it did not disappoint! We had three youth groups join us, bringing so much energy and excitement. Local youth leaders Jack and Connor kept everyone engaged with games (including a fun axe-throwing challenge!) throughout the night and Jordan Winslade delivered a powerful message on God’s love that really connected with and impacted so many. With artists like T.Jay, Southside Gospel Revue, River Movement, and Sam Hornshaw, the night was filled with upbeat music and meaningful worship. Plus, a free sausage sizzle from Street Eagles made sure all the youth were fueled up for a great night. What a kickoff!

We’re excited to see this space grow further as we have more youth groups make it to the Friday night in years to come.

Saturday

Saturday was our biggest day by far! We debuted the new Freedom Music Festival Festival Tent for acoustic sets with artists like Nicole Kate, Olive Tree, and Candid Remark, creating a more intimate vibe. And for the first time ever, we held an Artist Panel, where fans got to ask the artists about their creative journeys and faith. The food scene was on point, with everything from Tex Mex nachos and Dayspring Burgers to Mama Dee’s Doughnuts and ice-cold snow cones!

As the sun set, the Main Stage was lit up by amazing performances from Elizabeth Rae, Brown Book Revival, Anna Beaden, and more. Kids were running around with glow sticks, and the atmosphere was simply phenomenal. J-L Rathbone closed the day with an impactful message on the urgency of salvation – “Don’t believe the lie that you can wait until tomorrow, make a decision today!” The whole day was filled with joy, under a clear sky and surrounded by God’s beauty at Dayspring Farm.

Sunday

On Sunday, we closed the festival with a beautiful worship service in the Festival Tent, bringing together people from across Gympie and beyond. Acoustic sets by Jordan Winslade, Caitlin McGovern, and more then filled the tent with captivating melodies, while the Main Stage later brought amazing performances from Sam Hornshaw, Victor Claye, Soulchase, Rothbury, and Southside Gospel Revue. We wrapped up the night with a fun, spontaneous worship set from River Movement and some of our festival team, leaving everyone on a high note and filled with joy.

Artists

This year’s artists brought incredible energy, talent, and heart to every stage, making each day memorable. Friday night kicked off with electric performances by T.Jay, Southside Gospel Revue, River Movement, and Sam Hornshaw, setting a lively tone. Saturday was packed with crowd favorites like Elizabeth Rae, Brown Book Revival, and Anna Beaden on the Main Stage, while the new Festival Tent offered intimate acoustic sets and a unique Artist Panel where fans got a behind-the-scenes look into the artists’ journeys. Sunday wrapped up the festival with performances from Victor Claye, Soulchase, Rothbury, and Jordan Winslade, and many more great artists.

Our artists truly made this year’s festival special, sharing their talents and stories in ways that touched hearts and brought everyone together. We are privileged to be able to provide this platform for new and upcoming artists, as well as established artists to be able to share the talents God has blessed them with. We so look forward to seeing the calibre of artists playing at Freedom Music Festival continue to improve in the years to come as these artists develop further!

Community

This weekend was more than just music – it was about community. From Friday’s sausage sizzle to the free glow sticks on Saturday, there were countless moments that brought people together. We loved seeing friends and families sharing meals together, camping out at Dayspring Farm, and making new connections. The whole festival had a beautiful spirit of fellowship, like one big family reunion filled with laughter, joy, and new friendships.

Ministry

God was at work in so many ways! Youth leaders were able to connect with their youth, and we saw lives genuinely transformed forever. Some young people came just for Youth Night but returned each day, beaming with a joy only God can give. Each gospel message was a seed planted, and we’re already hearing testimonies from attendees about how their lives have been changed by Jesus. Keep an eye on our social media for more amazing stories – THIS is what the festival is all about!

Volunteers

We couldn’t have done this without our incredible volunteers! From parking and ticket check-in to sound, lighting, and first aid, they were at work, making the festival run smoothly. Their hard work and big smiles helped create a welcoming and beautiful environment for everyone. Thank you for showing up and making this event the best it could be. We are so grateful for you!

Thank You!

Our team is slow pleased with this year’s festival. Thank you for being part of Freedom Music Festival 2024! We so look forward to hearing more testimonies from people and are excited to begin planning for the next festival as well. Until then, stay blessed, stay connected, and live in the freedom that Jesus brings!
